The search for the 2 missing Japanese climbers, who were climbing the technically more challenging Cassin Ridge route, ended. The climbers disappeared somewhere between 19,000 ft and the summit. See http://www.adn.com/outdoors/story/421263.html.
Baron Just burned up my lunch hour catching up on your trip blog. Sorry to hear you had to bail. That blows. Great narration - got a good feeling of what you'd been through and just made me want to be there even more. I'll be doing all my certifications here with CO Mtn School over the next year. Let me know if you make another bid. Hopefully I can make it happen next time. Nice Job! Jon Haukaas
Thanks Jon! It's great to hear from you! I don't think I will rest until I stand on top, so we'll need to chat about it! By the way, send me your new E-mail address (to bschon@gci.net).
Back in May of 2008, I attempted a guided climb up Denali (formerly Mount McKinley) in Alaska, the highest point in North America at 20,310 feet, with a team of other climbers and guides from RMI Expeditions. This blog documenting my journey is dedicated to anyone that aspires to adventure and the clarity and solace that it can bring! I can be reached at baron.schon@icloud.com.
